Any time heating and air12/18/2023 A day later, we decided to purchase a new unit. We are extremely pleased and will trust OHH&AC of Hampton Roads for all of our future needs. They performed the repairs in a timely fashion the same day. We discussed what needed to be done now and what could wait. He explained in detail and showed us pictures of the failed parts. Matt took so much time inspecting our furnace and air con unit. They were polite, on time, smiled often & friendly. Read More I called and got same day service. All technicians were polite and professional even though it took a while. Thank y One Hour for sticking with this issue. They have been gone about 4 hours and so far so good. He took his phone and blew up the camera and showed me several pin connections and indicated cracks. Once new board was installed system started working correctly. He turned to me and said, I agree with intermittent board failure and repeated jiggling connection and flame cut off and reignited. He touch a connection and the unit cut off (the flame) and immediately re ignited when he let it go. As he waslooking at the primary board the unit was running. Unit cut off and started again while we were talking. He said he hoped it would fail and then diagnosed himself. At time of his arrival I told him the unit had cycled on and off a few times this morning. Gary came out this morning and I walked him through the whole story. Now, am I convinced this will fix it, not at this time but I hope so. They are sending someone back today, Friday, to install new board. Remember, both times unit had exact same issues. He went back to diagnosis and this time came up with intermittent board failure. I asked him to stay until the unit operated by itself as Luke had forced unit and claimed victory and it never operated after he left. He forced the unit back and forth from ac to heat to make sure unit would operate in both modes and felt that fixed it. He identified a loose wire on the main board. He chased the exact same problems that Luke did on Tuesday and came up with different diagnosis further convincing that I didn't need new thermostat. Second technician, Felix, came Wednesday night late, thank him for that. Needless to say I didn't need a new thermostat ($528). After Luke left the system never worked again and had to have One Hour back out Wednesday night and after several hours of diagnostic came up with a different problem. Unfortunately my first opinion was too quick. Wife will be much happier knowing thermostat is working like she is used to for Thanksgiving crowd that will be here. Stuck with it until problem was identified and left to get new thermostat and returned to install, set up and test function.
